Walc is a care provider of specialised care with over 12 years of experience and dedication to enhancing quality of life for others.
We are proud of our compassionate home care program designed to help adults with life long neurological disorders to live happier and healthier lives.
Our proud history
It all began in 2006 when Nicholas Wood was working at a Special Educational Needs School, in a post 16 unit. He became aware of the difficulties parents were having to find suitable adult placements for their children when they had to leave full-time education.
Over a few drinks, he put some ideas to Silena, of how he thought they could improve the lives of those individuals living with a learning disability. Johanna, Nicholas’ wife, and Feliciano, Silena’s husband joined in and brought motivation and common sense to the project.
Although Nicholas’ and Johanna’s backgrounds were in the field of education and administration, the move to being care providers, seemed an obvious choice, and so Walc (Wood Autistic Living & Care) was created.
In March 2008 Walc opened its doors to its first client and in quick succession came the others. The company has now enjoyed 11 + happy years, caring for some very special individuals and continues to do so. With every year improving on our service and achieving continuing good results from CQC.
