In line with Government guidelines Walc House is taking the following precautionary measures in order to safeguard our residents:
• Visits to the home – Resident can have ‘named visitors’ who will be able to enter the care home for regular visits. There is no limit on the number of ‘named visitors’ that a single resident can have and no nationally set limit on the number who can visit in a single day, but welcoming anyone into our care home from the community inevitably brings risk of COVID-19 transmission. Therefore testing prior to entering the home is a requirement. If you cannot supply a negative test result from a lateral flow test, then you will not be permitted to enter the home and alternative visiting arrangements such as window visits or garden visits will be organised and 2 metre social distancing will need to be observed
• Visitors who have tested negative and enter the home are required to keep physical contact to a minimum. Face masks are still required to be used inside the home. Physical contact like handholding is acceptable if hand washing protocols are followed. Close personal contact such as hugging presents higher risks. If you are fully vaccinated this lowers the risk but does not eliminate, therefore please refrain from face to face contact (kissing).
• All tradesmen visiting the care home will be required to test prior to arrival and send proof of negative test to firstname.lastname@example.org. If working in areas where there is possibility of contact with residents, they will be required to wear a mask (FFP1)in line with our visiting policy for family and friends who are in contact with residents.
•Trips outside of the home have been re-established but with precautions. Outings in residents personal transport/company vehicle can now go ahead, but no public transport is to be used. Social distancing is required at all times and the use of masks by staff whilst in the vehicle. All external trips out including medical appointment are reviewed on an individual basis and risk assessed alongside advice from other professionals. Over-night stays with family is also re-established in agreement with the Registered Manager who will risk assess on an individual basis whilst following strict protocols so as to enable residents to return to the care home without the necessity to self isolate for 10 days PCR testing 72 hrs prior to the residents return plus a lateral flow test on day of arrival and a 2nd PCR test once back in the care home. We encourage family and friends to contact the home via telephone 01929 422200 or email email@example.com at any time for more information, rest assured we will do our utmost to make sure regular contact is maintained with all family and friends.
•Enhanced infection control procedures audited on a day to day basis- High traffic areas will be disinfected at regular intervals and all infection control recording will be monitored and reviewed by management- Please feel free to contact us regarding our infection control.
•Health and Welfare of our staff will be monitored day to day. Current government guidance regarding self-isolation and time off work will be adhered to accordingly
