Frequently asked questions
Does having home care result in a loss of independence?
No. Our belief is that independence is supported as the client can have a 1-1 plan created for them which will allow them to do all the things they want to do safely and more. Having in-home care services means being in control of your activities and retaining as much independence as each situation allows.
How can I trust a support-worker in my home?
Just like nurses and doctors, professional support-workers have chosen a career in compassionate care of those in need. Walc completes background checks via DBS (Disclosure& Barring Service) with spot checks by management to ensure the quality of services are being maintained. This also allows the client and/or family members to present any concerns that they may have, regarding the care that they are receiving
How does Walc attract the best Support Workers?
We wholeheartedly are driven by the rule that ‘We will not refer a caregiver into your home that we would not welcome into our own .’ We are competitive in our salaries, we offer staff the opportunity to grow with the company by achieving recognised qualifications,
What if we don’t like our support-worker?
When our clients first sign up with us, we will introduce a group of support workers as they may need more than one day covered. We will work with the client to find the perfect matches.
Will we have a choice in selecting the support- worker
We work with each client to understand their choices and feedback from family members, to help find the perfect “dream team”
How do we start the process for domicillary care
Give us a call and we’ll conduct a brief phone discussion to understand your needs. We then can meet those involved in selecting and paying for care at your home for an in-home needs consultation. From there we can create a plan that is bespoke to each individual
